Welcome all to the NGARA (in full and abbreviation) website 2018. We are pleased to inform you that NGARA is now revived and ready to play its role of assisting African producer countries and partners formulate a coordinated strategy for the sustainable development of their natural gums, resins and allied dryland resources, for improving rural livelihood and environmental conservation. This is aimed at positioning African producer countries and partners as major global players in the production, processing and marketing of gums, resins and allied dryland commodities.
With the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the African Union Commission (AUC), NGARA has prepared a Medium Term Framework (Overview and framework of priorities 2017–2030) to guide its operations over the next twelve years. The Framework document (in both English and French) has now been uploaded and will be used to formulate a range of projects for its implementation.
Early this year, NGARA was formally registered as a Pan African organization in Kenya in line with the laws of the country. It is now a legal entity with legal mandate to operate in the country and region. This is a great milestone, which will assist the organization establish partnerships and collaborate with different organizations to achieve its mandate.
